ALLIED ARTS :: QUALITY OF URBAN LIFE
Quality of Urban Life
The people of Allied Arts share a passion for the urban experience and knowledge of the characteristics that make city life great. As an advocacy organization,
|
SAM and Allied Arts share the common goal of creating great civic spaces on the Seattle Waterfront for art and people. I value our partnership and their work to make our waterfront an international destination of culture and experience.
— Mimi Gates
Director, Seattle Art Museum
| Allied Arts works to set and lead the debate regarding important quality of urban life decisions. In addition to lobbying public officials and garnering media coverage, we sponsor architectural design forums that produce visions and renderings of enhanced Seattle neighborhoods and destinations.
Our "Beer & Culture" discussion events are elegant, yet informal, gatherings
where decision makers, opinion leaders and Allied Arts members tackle challenging
urban design issues and spawn inspiring ideas. We also serve as a quality of
urban life watchdog by taking positions on urban design and arts-related matters.
Similarly, our board endorses political candidates, based on their commitment
to quality of urban life issues and principles.
