How can we think about transportation infrastructure so it complements urban livability with a better design and smart mitigations?
Join us at the Washington Park Arboretum as we see presentations on solutions to minimize the impact of 520 on the Arboretum, check up on Freeway Park and hear from a panel of experts who will discuss how freeways, parks and neighborhoods can work together.
What kinds of measures should we take to minimize the impact of a rebuilt 520 on the Arboretum and Montlake neighborhood? How do we make parks and open space a priority and ensure that transportation infrastructure strengthen and not threaten neighborhoods?
Are there practical solutions we've used in this region? What are other cities doing to create vibrant parks and neighborhoods?
Can we grow as a region and absorb growth without losing the historical character of vistas, views and open space?
Join us as we tackle these questions head-on and collaborate in a discussion about what we want our future to look like.
Come share your opinions and hear from our panelists and presenters - see below:

Allied Arts Beer and Culture Nights
Allied Arts was founded in 1954 under the name of “The Beer and Culture Society.” Fifty years later, we still like that name so we’re honoring it with our “Beer and Culture Nights.” By convening groups of smart, energetic and public-spirited citizens in an informal setting, by providing snack food, beer and a hot topic, we hope to inspire free-ranging and uninhibited discussion that will be enormously fun and can lead to civic action.
